DUTIES:
Will report to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and will be responsible for assessing, recommending, facilitating and implementing process improvements in all of the manufacturing plants to increase efficiencies and reduce operating costs.
Duties will include: Problem solving & improvement recommendations in areas such as: Processes, Process Control; Assembly Techniques; Tooling, Equipment, Product Design; Ergonomics and Standards Discuss with Plant Manager, Engineering, Quality and Employee Teams all identified areas for improvement and recommendations. Participate in New Product Design reviews to ensure designs are manufacturable in company facilities or in low skill off-shore environments. Conduct formal studies of direct/indirect labor to establish standards and determinations of time utilized. Audit documentation process to make sure documentation is easy to use, flexible and effective. Monitor manufacturing performance metrics as a guide to areas needing most improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a BSIE, BSIET or BSMET degree and a minimum of 7 years experience as an Industrial Engineer with at least 2 years in a multi-plant setting with the responsibility of implementing lean manufacturing principles in a manufacturing setting. This engineer will have experience in a variety of manufacturing process with assembly being preferred. They will be accomplished with Industrial Engineering/Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement principles and techniques. Their Industrial Engineering skills will include: Time Studies; Plant Layout; Line Balancing; Standards; Methods & Procedures; and Ergonomics. This engineer will also have demonstrated excellent Project Management skills; e a strong communicator at all levels from Executive Management to Employee Teams "on the floor". They will also understand cost accounting and knowledge of Spanish would be ideal. This engineer will demonstrate a high level of energy, will be self-motivated and goal oriented and will have the ability to work equally well in a team environment as well as individually. They will also be available to travel 15-20% to plants out of state.
